Police in Ohio say a man with a history of domestic violence killed a woman and then fatally shot himself while their two children slept inside a house. Authorities in the Toledo suburb of Maumee say no one else was injured in the shooting early Monday of 29-year-old Melissa Shoop while she was with friends on a porch at her mother’s house.
The couple have a 9-year-old and a 20-month-old daughter together. Police say they had been searching for the man since last Friday after they say he took Shoop’s phone and threw it at her. He was previously accused of forcing his way into Shoop’s locked vehicle and chasing her when she ran away.
