While gas prices are nowhere near as high as they are in the Chicagoland area, tri-state residents are definitely feeling the pain at the pump as over the last week the price of gas has risen by almost a full $0.25 per gallon.
Several factors have played into this problem, including the summer travel season still being in full force following the Fourth of July holiday. Accompany that with more expensive summer gasoline blends produced at various refineries, it results in a higher price at the pump.
Prices around the tri-state are all hovering right around $2.90 per gallon.
